Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Massif Central

UCCIMAC (Union of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Massif Central) was created in 1975 as a non-profit making organization and has became, since 1992, a Public Establishement which groups together 26 Chambers of Commerce and Industry belonging to 19 French departments spread over 6 regions :

Rhône-Alpes
Languedoc-Roussillon
Midi-Pyrénées
Burgundy


Its territorial vocation is the Massif Central - the Heart of France - as defined by the law and decree of 1985 called "Loi Montagne".


UCCIMAC is the interface between the consular network and the State. Its activities are involved in national and regional development as well as local development.

UCCIMAC operates as :

an interconsular force of proposal to decision-makers at the Massif Central level,
an experimental "tool" (pilot actions) in the economic development network,
an operator thank to its own capacity for mobilizing all over the Massif Central.

Its function ca be described as follows :

INFORMATION CENTRE : specialized information, technical and experts' reports, finalization of methodology, support and advice

TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO THE LOCAL CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE : businesses takeover, local development, assistance and advice to tourist operators, promotion of the Massif Central

 "THINK TANK" : small retailing network and local life, quality in small retailing, funding small and medium enterprises (SME), promotion of communication infrastructures, ...
